Overview

CMTS LLC is seeking a Structural Subject Matter Expert (SME) to serve as a senior technical advisor for structural engineering matters related to large-scale capital programs across various sectors including aviation and public infrastructure. The role involves providing leadership and technical oversight on projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and structural integrity through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary structural engineering advisor for major infrastructure and construction programs.
  • Review structural calculations, plans, specifications, and reports for compliance and constructability.
  • Provide technical guidance on structural systems and engineering solutions.
  • Support project teams during planning, design, procurement, and construction phases.
  • Conduct structural condition assessments and inspections of existing facilities.
  • Investigate structural failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, findings, and recommendations.
  • Mentor engineering and construction professionals.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a Structural Engineering emphasis
  • 15+ years of structural engineering experience
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of International Building Code (IBC), ASCE standards, ACI, AISC
  • Experience with structural design reviews and constructability assessments
  • Strong skills in problem-solving, decision-making, and communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite and structural analysis software
  • Working knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) platforms
