Overview

The Structural Mechanic 4 position at Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah is a skilled role focused on performing various structural assembly operations. The position emphasizes teamwork and the training of others while ensuring quality and compliance with specifications in the aerospace industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, including drilling and riveting operations.
  • Use blueprints and engineering drawings to layout, fabricate, and install parts on aircraft.
  • Mentor and assist team members in understanding blueprints and engineering orders.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and FAA quality specifications and documentation.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area and support the company's Lean Initiative Program.
  • Plan and organize workloads to meet goal hours and schedule expectations.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 years of structural assembly experience
  • Experience with Solumnia and Smarteam preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Skilled in close tolerance work
  • Proficient with various tools including pneumatic drills and riveting guns
  • Good working knowledge of computers and related software
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in restricted areas
