Overview

As a Structural Mechanic 4 at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, you will be part of a team-oriented environment, where you will independently perform a variety of structural assembly operations. Your role will encompass the assembly, fitting, and riveting of aircraft structural components, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards, while also mentoring and assisting fellow team members.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, ensuring requirements are met.
  • Use schematics, engineering drawings, and technical instructions for layout and installation.
  • Coordinate with supervision and inspection to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Rivet structural assemblies using various tools and maintain quality standards.
  • Mentor and train team members in interpreting blueprints and engineering orders.
  • Plan and organize workloads to meet scheduled goals and enhance productivity.
  • Maintain a safe, neat, and orderly work area in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain logs and records related to production processes.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 years of related structural assembly experience
  • Experience with Solumnia and Smarteam preferred
  • Q-stamp preferred
  • Skilled in blueprint reading and interpretation
  • Proficient in using various tools for structural assembly and riveting
  • Good knowledge of computers and related software
  • Ability to perform close tolerance work
  • Knowledge of mathematical formulas and measuring devices
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in restricted spaces
  • Fluency in English
