Overview

The Structural Mechanic 3 at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is responsible for performing a variety of structural assembly operations in a team-oriented environment. The role requires a strong focus on quality and adherence to specifications, ensuring that all work meets customer expectations and company standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Safely perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures
  • Conduct varied drilling and riveting operations
  • Perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of aircraft parts
  • Read work orders, blueprints, and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations
  • Check all work for a defect-free assembly prior to final inspection
  • Instruct and assist team members with blueprints and engineering orders
  • Maintain logs and records of work performed
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are followed
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area

Required skills

  • Aircraft sheetmetal experience
  • 4 years related structural assembly experience
  • Experience with Solumina and Smarteam (preferred)
  • Q-stamp (preferred)
  • Use of pneumatic tools
  • Blueprint reading
  • Quality control
  • Close tolerance work
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic shop math skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in small spaces or restricted areas
