Overview

Degenkolb Engineers is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer - Designer to create safe and beautiful environments through expert engineering consultation. This role involves preparing for the Professional Engineering licensing exam while focusing on structural design and analysis for various projects in California and Michigan.

Key responsibilities

  • Review architectural and structural drawings for design and analysis
  • Prepare engineering calculation packages with justifications
  • Assist in solving construction challenges by coordinating with other disciplines
  • Respond to RFIs and review submittals
  • Gain exposure to new concepts in construction

Required skills

  • MS in Structural Engineering or BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience (preferred)
  • Undergraduate GPA of 3.40 or higher
  • Professional communication skills
  • Knowledge of software programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, Excel, and others
  • Experience in seismic engineering analysis and design
  • Passing grade on the FE exam (desired)
