Job Description

Overview

Metromont is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their team in Winchester, Virginia. With nearly a century of experience in the construction industry, Metromont specializes in the engineering and manufacturing of precast concrete components, providing comprehensive services from design through project completion.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations and details for precast concrete products and connections
  • Independently manage engineering design aspects of projects
  • Review and approve drawings developed from designs
  • Attend and potentially lead project coordination meetings
  • Write and review requests for information (RFI)
  • Resolve engineering design issues and assist others in resolution
  • Check engineering design calculations and details of others for accuracy and adherence to standards
  • Review erection drawings and master shop tickets
  • Conduct regular plant visits to stay aware of production processes
  • Become licensed in relevant states for engineering work

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a preference for structural emphasis
  • PE Certification required
  • 3-7 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Experience with engineering design software preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn
