Overview

The Store Protection Specialist at Ross Stores is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for both associates and customers. The role involves mitigating theft and fraud, providing a visible presence at store entrances and exits, and fostering a culture of teamwork and customer service within the store.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and secure environment by monitoring store entrances, exits, and sales floor for potential theft indicators.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and answering their questions in a friendly manner.
  • Collaborate with store leadership to comply with loss prevention directives.
  • Educate associates on loss prevention practices and assist in minimizing operational shortages.
  • Represent the company's brand professionally and maintain adherence to dress code.

Required skills

  • High School education or equivalent required; AA degree preferred.
  • One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
  • One year loss prevention/security training preferred.
  • Active Security Guard License preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Excellent customer service skills and conflict resolution abilities.
