Overview

The Store Protection Specialist at Ross Stores plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for both customers and associates while mitigating theft and fraud. This position involves providing visible presence at store entrances and on the sales floor, engaging customers, and ensuring compliance with loss prevention directives.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide a visible presence at store entrances/exits and on the sales floor
  • Greet customers in a friendly manner and assist with inquiries
  • Identify and address potential theft indicators
  • Partner with store leadership to minimize operational shortage and ensure compliance with loss prevention policies
  • Maintain a safe and secure store environment by following safety protocols
  • Train and educate associates on shortage reduction initiatives
  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company dress code

Required skills

  • High School education or equivalent required, AA degree preferred
  • One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred
  • One year loss prevention/security training preferred
  • Active Security Guard License preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to resolve conflict effectively
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment
