Job Description

Overview

The Steel Foreman at Kiely Family of Companies is responsible for the installation and maintenance of natural gas pipelines. This role requires operating a variety of tools and performing excavation tasks while adhering to safety standards in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Digging trenches and installing natural gas steel pipelines
  • Backfilling excavations with asphalt
  • Entering and exiting excavations varying from 2' to 5' in depth
  • Shoveling dirt and hot asphalt, and operating a jackhammer on roadways or sidewalks
  • Carrying materials or equipment to and from the truck to job sites
  • Cutting concrete with a chop saw and coring through concrete foundations
  • Performing basic pipe fitting with pipe sizes from 1" to 2"
  • Tapping and stopping off water or gas service tees from the main line
  • Carrying out additional safety sensitive duties as required

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years construction site experience
  • Ability to operate a variety of simple and complex tools
  • Physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience with heavy construction equipment is highly desirable
