Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSteel Fabricator / Weld Fitter - ASME Pressure Vessel ShopLPG Ventures, Inc. - Kearney, MO$22-$30/hr depending on experienceFull time - Monday-Friday 8:00 - 5:00We build ASME code pressure vessels for the propane and anhydrous ammonia industry.We're hiring steel fabricators / weld fitters to work alongside our code welders. You handle layout, fit-up, prep, and material.If you've got a couple years of fab experience and you want a real path to becoming a code-qualified welder, we will qualify you in-house on our procedures, on the clock. Tack qualification first, then a progression toward full 6G.What you'll be doing:Reading shop drawings and weld symbols; laying out shells, heads, nozzles, and attachments to printCutting, beveling, and preparing joints to the joint geometry called out on the weld procedureFitting up circumferential seams, nozzles, couplings, saddles, and lugs - holding alignment and fit-up toleranceGrinding, arc gouging, weld prep, and cleanup between passesTacking assembliesPulling, staging, and kitting material to the bay so jobs start complete: heads, flanges, fittings, and consumablesRigging and crane/hoist work, running turning rolls and positionersNon-code fabrication: skids, frames, ladders, platforms, and mounting hardwareCNC Burn table operationKeeping your bay clean, organized, and safeWhat we're looking for:2+ years in steel fabrication, structural fitting, pipe fitting, or vessel workCan read a blueprint and set up a joint without somebody standing over youComfortable with grinders, torch, plasma, band saw, arc gouge, tape and squareEnough welding background to run a bead - you don't need a current certification, but you need handsShow up on time, every day, and take pride in tight fit-upAble to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background checkWhat we offer:$22-$30/hr depending on experience, plus overtime availablePaid, in-house welder qualification - tack qual to start, with a defined path to 6G and code welder payHealth / dental / vision insuranceRetirement plan with company matchPaid time off and holidaysBoot and Hood allowanceSteady backlogPhysical requirements:Standing, bending, kneeling, and working at heights or in confined spaces.
