The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: The Stationary Engineer performs skilled tasks such as repairs and adjustments necessary for proper operation of mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing but not limited to the following and in the priority instructed by Supervision. Qualifications: Required: High School Diploma, Technical School graduate or equivalent, Experience: Three to five years in boiler operation Must be in excellent physical condition to withstand repeated lifting, bending, squatting, stooping, prolonged standing and walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding Must be able to read, write, comprehend, verbally pronounce and speak the English language Certifications and Licenses Required: Valid New Jersey Driver s License, Valid New Jersey Blue Seal License 1-C Scheduling Requirements: Full Time Evening Sunday 3PM - 11PM Monday 3PM - 11PM Tuesday 3PM - 11PM Wednesday OFF Thursday OFF Friday 11PM - 7AM Saturday 11PM - 7AM Essential Functions: Chemical testing is performed accurately as assigned Accurately perform water treatment tests and record results Maintain a clean environment in the Power Plant General clean up, painting, etc Installs, troubleshoots and repairs stationary equipment such as pumps, compressors, motors, sterilization and Power Plant machinery, etc Complete boiler room logs in full including work performed, materials used, date and time prior to the end of the scheduled shift Quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control complies with code and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies Demonstrates good communication and safety skills as they relate to patient population infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric Maintains inventory and is able to contact vendor for availability of parts/equipment, writes out a purchase order for the same and present all information to Supervision staff and Supervision for the Facility Operations Department Uses professional courtesy when communicating by telephone, 2-way radio, and writing, Employee demonstrates a high level of skill, knowledge in areas of specialization, of codes in areas of expertise, and follows them to the best of situation and/or ability Provides leadership and is able to train fellow staff members in areas of responsibility, and is able to perform many of the duties found in the department Willingly responds to all requests by Supervision Assists trades personnel with general helper responsibilities and duties as assigned Assists and/or completes assigned work during non-routine circumstances such as: snow removal, floods, fire, utility interruptions etc, Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
