Overview

Join the Green Team at Matrec, a division of GFL, and contribute to building a sustainable future. As a Human Resources Intern, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to the HR team in Quebec and Eastern Ontario, allowing you to gain hands-on experience in human resources management while impacting the environment positively.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing employee onboarding files and processes
  • Contribute to projects aimed at improving employee and manager experience
  • Maintain employee records in the HR information system (Workday) with confidentiality
  • Support employees and managers with guidance
  • Collaborate with HR expertise centres for quality service delivery
  • Help organize internal events (recognition activities, team building)
  • Update internal policies, employee handbook, and job descriptions
  • Conduct small labor law research to support the team

Required skills

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree, certificate, or diploma in human resources, industrial relations, administration
  • Fluency in French and good knowledge of English
  • Basic understanding of labor laws in Quebec
  • Proficiency in Workday
  • Strong skills in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Discretion and professionalism in managing confidential data
