Job Description

Overview

As a Staff Software Engineer at Capital One Travel Tech, you will play a key role in developing a full-stack travel portal that enhances the user experience for travelers. You will work within a dynamic team, taking ownership of technical design and development while addressing real customer problems throughout the application lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as a tech lead developer owning the technical design and development of applications
  • Utilize multiple programming languages and AWS tools to improve application systems
  • Mentor junior and intermediate associates on engineering best practices
  • Establish and identify engineering best practices and standards
  • Contribute to architectural design using High Level Design methodology

Required skills

  • 8+ years of software development experience with JavaScript, Java, Angular/TypeScript, Python, Node.js, or React
  • Proficiency in both front-end and back-end development
  • Experience with application and data design and architecture
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud products
