Overview

As a Staff Software Engineer at Capital One Travel Tech, you will play a crucial role in disrupting the travel and expense industry by enhancing and integrating various systems for corporate travel. Your work will directly influence the future of corporate travel and impact millions, focusing on building solutions that are robust and scalable.

Key responsibilities

  • Work as part of a dynamic team throughout the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Act as a tech lead developer owning technical design and development of cross-functional applications
  • Utilize programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, Angular/TypeScript, Python, React, and/or Go
  • Continuously improve the software engineering developer experience and contribute to internal frameworks
  • Establish engineering best practices and standards, including code review processes
  • Provide mentorship to junior and intermediate associates
  • Own architecture and contribute to High Level Design (HLD)

Required skills

  • At least 6 years of hands-on development experience with JavaScript, Java, Angular/TypeScript, Python, Node.js, React, a
  • Experience with application and data design, architecture, and development
  • Full-Stack development experience with user-facing front-end and server-side back-end
  • Proficiency in AWS or other cloud products like Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
