Overview

As a Staff Software Engineer at Capital One Travel, you will focus on the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform Android applications. This role is critical in shaping the future of digital banking in Canada, leveraging innovative technology to enhance customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

  • Own technical design, architecture, and development of application systems
  • Work within a dynamic mobile team throughout the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Improve software engineering practices within agile teams
  • Design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across full stack
  • Provide mentorship to Junior, Intermediate, and Senior mobile associates

Required skills

  • At least 6 years of hands-on development of Native Android applications using Java/Kotlin
  • Experience with application and data design, architecture, and development
  • Proficiency in RxJava, Coroutines, Dagger, Espresso, JUnit, and Jenkins
  • Experience providing mentorship and guidance to technical and business stakeholders
  • Exposure to AWS or other cloud products
  • Experience working in an agile environment
