Overview

Texas Biomedical Research Institute is seeking highly qualified Staff Scientists (I, II, III) to join its Applied Science and Innovation (ASI) Division. Candidates should have experience in infectious disease research, particularly in BSL-3 and BSL-4 environments, and a strong publication record to contribute to critical diagnostics, therapies, and vaccines development.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and execute cutting-edge scientific research in a laboratory setting
  • Develop and advise on innovative methodologies to achieve research objectives
  • Prepare and support the publication of research findings
  • Assist in drafting and securing grant and contract applications
  • Mentor and lead team members, fostering a collaborative environment
  • Provide insights on talent acquisition, retention, and performance management
  • Cultivate relationships with faculty and cross-functional teams

Required skills

  • Ph.D., D.V.M., or equivalent in biomedical sciences, microbiology, virology, immunology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3+ years of postdoctoral research experience
  • Hands-on experience in BSL-3 and BSL-4 environments
  • Strong publication record in scientific advancements
  • Expertise in infectious disease research
