Job Description

Overview

The Staff RN in the Medical Unit at OhioHealth provides general nursing care to patients and families in acute healthcare settings. This role operates 24/7 and requires the RN to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care while delegating tasks to LPNs and UAPs according to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments
  • Document planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses
  • Evaluate and document responses to nursing interventions
  • Revise plan of care based on evaluative data as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Participate in process improvement activities for clinical quality and customer satisfaction
  • Focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in job duties

Required skills

  • Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio or a multi-state compact state
  • BLS certification
  • BSN required after 5 years of employment
