Overview

OhioHealth is seeking a Staff RN for the Med Surg unit at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. This full-time position involves providing general nursing care on night shifts, including weekends and holidays, in a high-reliability healthcare environment. The role emphasizes ongoing patient assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care while ensuring safety and compliance with healthcare standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments for patients
  • Document planned nursing interventions based on diagnoses and collaborative problems
  • Evaluate and document responses to nursing interventions and revise care plans as necessary
  • Participate in process improvement activities to enhance clinical quality and customer satisfaction
  • Delegate nursing tasks to LPNs and UAPs as per the Ohio Nurse Practice Act

Required skills

  • Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • BSN required after 5 years of employment
  • Experience in patient care and nursing assessment
  • Strong critical thinking and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to comply with healthcare documentation and standards
