Overview

The Staff Pharmacist at UnitedHealth Group will work with a team of pharmacy professionals to deliver innovative healthcare solutions aimed at improving patient outcomes. This role involves evaluating medication orders, dispensing prescriptions, and ensuring safe and effective patient care, while also overseeing pharmacy compliance and operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and dispense medication orders for safety and accuracy
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication regimens
  • Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding activities
  • Monitor patient outcomes and identify adverse drug events
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns to ensure efficient workflow
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements

Required skills

  • ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree (PharmD preferred)
  • Active Louisiana pharmacist license
  • Experience with pharmacy systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • 1+ years of recent pharmacist experience (preferred)
