Overview

Amarx Search, Inc. is seeking a Staff Mechanical Design Engineer for a full-time position in East Aurora, NY, at a leading aerospace and defense company. The role requires developing complex electrohydraulic and electromechanical systems, necessitating expertise in various mechanical engineering areas, particularly FEA and fluid dynamics.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct efforts requiring authoritative judgment in engineering techniques and procedures
  • Independently devise new approaches for engineering problems
  • Consult with customers and sales personnel to develop new product requirements
  • Perform trade studies and analyses to validate conceptual solutions
  • Lead a design proposal team in preparing designs and estimating costs
  • Provide project leadership and solicit design feedback from team members
  • Initiate and perform specialized research for reliable designs
  • Document designs, analyses, and test results with detailed reports

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
