Overview

Amarx Search, Inc. is seeking a Staff Mechanical Design Engineer for a full-time position in East Aurora, New York. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on FEA and fluid dynamics, contributing to the development of innovative electrohydraulic and electromechanical systems for aerospace and defense applications.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct evaluations and adaptations of engineering techniques and procedures
  • Independently devise new approaches to engineering problems
  • Develop new product requirements through customer consultations
  • Validate solutions by performing trade studies and analyses
  • Lead design proposal teams and assist in writing technical volumes
  • Provide project leadership and solicit design feedback
  • Initiate and perform specialized research and create reliable designs
  • Document designs, analyses, and test results

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Expertise in Statics and Dynamics
  • Expertise in Hydraulics and Electro-Mechanical systems
  • Expertise in Stress, Fatigue, and Performance Analysis
  • Expertise in Rotating Machinery
  • Expertise in FEA tools and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Expertise in Model Based Design
