Job Description

Overview

Participate as a technical leader on development programs involving thermal mechanical hardware for electronics. Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of micro and macro scale thermal subsystems, including evaporative cooling structures, heat exchangers, and airflow driven architectures. Apply advanced CFD simulation, experimental thermal testing, and multiphysics modeling to guide design decisions. Collaborate cross functionally with engineering, suppliers, and prototyping teams. Serve as an internal expert in evaporative cooling, CFD, thermal simulation, COMSOL/Fluent/ICEPAK modeling, and experimental test development. Develop advanced thermal mechanical designs for electronic assemblies, including microscale heat exchangers, cold plate concepts, and airflow structures. Perform CFD, thermal simulation, and multiphysics modeling using ANSYS Fluent, ICEPAK, COMSOL, and MATLAB based solvers. Apply experimental methods such as droplet evaporation studies, thermocouple grids, IR thermography, and environmental chamber testing. Direct and coordinate prototype builds including micro fabrication, 3D printing, optical setups, and microfluidic systems. Design electromechanical test fixtures (e.g., Arduino based automated rigs) to support data acquisition and reliability testing. Prepare engineering documentation including design outputs, specifications, BOMs, CAD models, and drawings. Support design modifications and reviews with senior technical leaders. Contribute to APQP and PPAP processes where applicable. Provide thermal simulation expertise, algorithm development capability, and research grade analysis techniques. Mentor junior engineers in thermal modeling, prototype methods, and data analytics. Participate in development of design process procedure and plan development of experimental test programs. Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing engineers, and global vendors for tolerance analysis and manufacturability reviews. Support acquisition of new components, prototype materials, and test equipment. HOURS: 40 hours per week (9 am to 6 pm) Education and Experience Requirements Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and three (3) years of experience in electronics manufacturing.
