Job Description

Overview

Canyon West of Cascadia, LLC is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator who will also serve as an Infection Prevention Nurse. This role is focused on mentoring and training nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with safety protocols. The coordinator will lead education programs, oversee competency evaluations, and contribute to infection control initiatives within the facility.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate educational programs for nursing services and other departments
  • Create and implement ongoing education and training programs for nursing staff and other personnel
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify educational requirements for staff
  • Ensure compliance training and education for clinical employees
  • Coordinate CPR training for licensed and non-licensed personnel
  • Serve as the facility's Infection Control Preventionist and chair the Infection Control Committee
  • Track and report infection trends and oversee infection control measures
  • Develop and maintain education calendars and communicate available training opportunities
  • Assist in employee recognition programs and manage the Employee Health Program

Required skills

  • Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing; BSN preferred
  • License as a RN in the state of employment
  • Current CPR certification and valid CPR teaching certificate preferred
  • Certified Infection Control Nurse preferred
  • Three years of nursing experience, including one year in long-term care
  • Experience as an instructor and in acute care preferred
  • Strong mentorship and training skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and make independent decisions
