Job Description

Overview

Nikon Metrology is seeking a Staff Accountant focused on manufacturing and cost accounting in a hands-on production environment in Maple Grove, MN. This role is integral to the finance team, partnering with operations to translate financial data into actionable insights and supporting month-end close and compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform inventory, production cost, and cost-of-sales accounting activities
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements for monthly, quarterly, and annual close
  • Track and analyze cost variances, freight, duties, and taxes
  • Calculate standard costs, labor recovery rates, and other manufacturing-related cost metrics
  • Monitor capital expenditures and support fixed asset audits
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records and perform account reconciliations
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Assist with tax reporting schedules and statutory requirements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
  • Experience with inventory, production costing, and cost-of-sales analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience using a fully integrated ERP system
  • Working knowledge of GAAP; familiarity with IFRS preferred
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
