Description: Staff Accountant Commercial Express HVAC - Sterling, VA - Full-Time, Onsite Commercial Express HVAC, a growing commercial HVAC contractor, is hiring a Staff Accountant to support our finance team's day-to-day accounting operations. You'll help maintain accurate financial records, support month-end close, and ensure compliance with accounting standards - with real opportunity to grow into construction and service-industry accounting. This is a great fit for someone who wants broad exposure across the accounting function (GL, AP/AR, job costing, payroll). Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing functions as needed Assist with payroll reconciliations and certified payroll reporting Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls Requirements: Qualifications Required 2-5 years of accounting experience Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Preferred Experience in construction, contracting, HVAC, or service-based industries Knowledge of job costing and project accounting Familiarity with certified payroll requirements Why Join Commercial Express HVAC?
