Overview

Skyworks LLC, a family-owned construction equipment rental company based in Buffalo, NY, is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant. This role involves managing general ledger accounts, assisting with financial closings, and ensuring compliance with various tax regulations across multiple divisions.

Key responsibilities

  • Research and reconcile general ledger accounts to bank accounts and sub ledger
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing
  • Conduct bank field examinations
  • Assist with equipment appraisals
  • Prepare, analyze, and file sales, use, excise, and other tax returns
  • Oversee customer and vendor tax exemption tracking
  • Analyze and provide guidance on tax compliance and tax laws
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly state filings
  • Support special projects such as acquisitions
  • Perform other assigned duties

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • Microsoft 365 suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience managing and protecting sensitive data
  • Multi-tasking and priority management skills
