Job Description

Overview

The Staff Accountant at United Medical Systems will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the month-end close processes. This position is essential for contributing to the organization's financial health within a mobile healthcare services company.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes
  • Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation
  • Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with accounts payable as needed
  • Support financial reporting and variance analysis
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
  • Participate in other ad hoc projects

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience (public or private) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Jet Reporting and Adaptive is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
