Job Description

Overview

The Sr. Quality Control Manager at Jobot will lead and mentor the Quality Control team in a fast-growing, cGMP manufacturing organization in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and overseeing testing and quality assurance processes to maintain high safety and quality standards in a supportive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Quality Control team members
  • Serve as site-level quality authority for product release and in-process decisions
  • Oversee QC testing for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods
  • Review and approve Certificates of Analysis (COA)
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA regulations (21 CFR 111 & 117), and SOPs
  • Lead non-conformance investigations, CAPAs, and OOS investigations
  • Partner with QA and Operations to resolve production and quality issues
  • Support internal and external audits (FDA, NSF, SQF, customer audits)
  • Monitor QC metrics and report to leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  • Oversee environmental monitoring, calibration, and QC equipment maintenance
  • Maintain and update QC SOPs and specifications
  • Participate in mock recalls and material review processes

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or related field
  • 5-7 years of Quality Control experience in regulated manufacturing
  • Strong expertise in cGMP and FDA regulations
  • Proven leadership experience managing QC teams
  • Experience with CAPA, OOS investigations, and deviation management
  • Strong background in regulatory audits
  • Experience with ERP systems and electronic quality systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
