Job Description

Overview

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Quality Control Engineer (QCE) to lead quality control efforts for the Integrated Project Quality (IPQ) Program in the delivery of data centers. This role will focus on mechanical discipline quality control, ensuring high standards for mechanical equipment and Off-Site Assembly (OSA), while managing vendors across North America and AWS build regions in the Americas.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide technical field oversight for mechanical components and manage off-site prefabrication quality processes
  • Lead root cause analysis for mechanical quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Support IPQ implementation across multiple AMER sites and manage quality milestones
  • Maintain quality control documentation and prepare weekly progress reports
  • Conduct routine mechanical quality inspections and manage non-conformance resolution
  • Oversee third-party vendor performance and conduct vendor meetings
  • Develop and ensure alignment with IPQ technical standards and validate compliance with specifications
  • Interface with stakeholders on technical quality execution

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years' experience in mechanical quality control or quality assurance for data centers
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical construction processes and HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of mechanical industry standards (ASHRAE, ASME, SMACNA, IMC)
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, or technical teams
  • Strong technical writing and reporting skills
