Overview

Raytheon is seeking a Sr Principal Systems Engineer to work onsite in Tucson, Arizona, as part of the Advanced Technology organization. This role focuses on mission analysis, simulation, and developing integrated solutions to support national defense efforts. The engineer will engage in complex technical assignments, contributing significantly to projects aimed at enhancing mission performance and system effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct vehicle design, system sizing, and mission performance analysis.
  • Analyze missions and hardware feasibility while collaborating with engineers across various disciplines.
  • Develop mission analysis and performance planning toolsets.
  • Utilize grid computing to generate and analyze large datasets.
  • Produce visualizations of complex systems and missions using STK or similar tools.
  • Coordinate with product line management and customers.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop concepts for new business opportunities.

Required skills

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Depth in a technical domain such as Guidance, Navigation, and Control or Mission Analysis.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, and C++.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments.
  • Experience in system performance, CONOPS, and algorithms.
  • Knowledge of modeling and simulation techniques.
