Job Description

Overview

As a Sr. Pre-Construction Manager at Amazon Data Services, you will lead the planning and execution of preconstruction programs for new data center sites across the nation. This position involves collaboration with multiple teams, providing schedule forecasting, construction budgeting, and constructability guidance to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of preconstruction programs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between various teams including Real Estate and Design Engineering.
  • Perform constructability reviews and drive improvements in baselines for new data center constructions.
  • Conduct negotiations with land sellers, developers, and general contractors.
  • Manage third-party vendors during the design phase.
  • Define construction scopes and request proposals from General Contractors.
  • Develop handoff documentation for Construction Manager partners.
  • Collect and share lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Required skills

  • 5+ years of data center engineering or experience with mission critical facilities.
  • Strong project management and contracts management experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of critical data center equipment including electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience in construction management of large-scale projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields such as Construction Management or Engineering.
