Job Description: This position is for a Senior Member of Engineering Staff (SMES) for the Command, Control, and Communications (C3) programs within the C3S Engineering organization. The Communications Systems Engineer is responsible for developing integrated communication systems for both internal and external comms. The role will involve analyzing system requirements, performing signal processing, and data analysis. Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, to ensure seamless integration, testing and validation of the overall system architecture. Essential Functions: Full Systems Engineering Life Cycle experience from baseline concept definition, System Design Review (SDR), through the Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR) as well as System Integration and Engineering Test (SEIT). Understanding of communications and network protocols, appropriate for mission-critical, near-real-time, military applications. Proficient with software tools used for systems engineering (i.e. requirements management, systems architecture and modeling, engineering change management, product life-cycle management, etc.). System integration and test engineering expertise, including technical leadership to perform verification activities including functional and environmental qualification. Excellent verbal and written communications skills; works with others to coordinate efforts, resolve cross-team issues and effectively communicate changes. Ability to ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security clearance. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline. At least 6 years of relevant experience with design, development and delivery of next-generation products for our maritime customers. Experience with design, operation, and maintenance of military communications and information systems, including experience with shipboard communication systems such as satellite communications, radios and antennas, as well as telephony systems and data networks.
