Overview

The Senior Media Technician at bioMerieux plays a key role in the production support of long-term antibiotic stocks, base broths, and other reagents. This position is essential for maintaining quality control and efficiency in media production, overseeing both the execution of production and the training of Media Technicians.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and execute production of long-term antibiotic stocks and base broths.
  • Assist in producing Vitek susceptibility and identification media.
  • Provide expert guidance to Media Technicians on technical topics.
  • Train incoming Media Technicians and schedule products in MES and SAP.
  • Ensure timely completion of media preparation for product delivery.
  • Perform equipment operation and daily maintenance of instruments.
  • Verify labeling and storage of media and chemicals.
  • Maintain chemical and equipment log books according to procedures.
  • Participate in new product development and transition support.
  • Uphold company quality procedures and standards.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in wet chemistry or bench work
  • Advanced knowledge of laboratory equipment for industrial and analytical scale
  • Skilled in MS Office tools including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment
