Overview

As a Sr. Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Capital One, you'll be part of an Agile team focused on productionizing machine learning applications at scale. In this role, you'll engage in the design, development, and implementation of machine learning systems, ensuring their performance and reliability while collaborating with various teams to solve real-world business problems.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deliver ML models and components
  • Collaborate with Product and Data Science teams
  • Develop and validate ML models and deploy application code
  • Monitor and maintain models in production
  • Leverage cloud-based technologies for ML models
  • Construct optimized data pipelines for ML
  • Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment best practices
  • Ensure code quality and governance in AI practices

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years designing and building data-intensive solutions
  • 4+ years programming with Python, Scala, or Java
  • 3+ years building, scaling, and optimizing ML systems
  • 2+ years leading teams developing ML solutions
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, Dask, Spark, or TensorFlow
  • Strong coding skills
  • Data gathering and preparation for ML models
  • Experience in people management
