Overview

As a Sr. Lead AI Engineer at Capital One, you will lead initiatives to create responsible and reliable AI systems that transform banking experiences. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI-powered products, leveraging a variety of tools and technologies to enhance customer interactions and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
  • Leverage a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
  • Invent and introduce optimization techniques for large scale production AI systems.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant fields (Computer Science, AI, etc.)
  • 6+ years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies.
  • 6+ years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
  • Experience with LLM Inference, Similarity Search, VectorDBs, and Guardrails.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex AI concepts.

What the company offers

  • Salary range for the role is $229,900 - $262,400 in McLean, VA.
