Overview

As a Sr. Injury Adjuster-UM at USAA, you will play a crucial role in adjusting moderately complex Uninsured Motorist (UM) and Underinsured Motorist (UIM) claims, including those involving attorney representation. This position emphasizes delivering exceptional member service while adhering to compliance standards and involves collaboration with various stakeholders to resolve claims effectively. The job requires a hybrid work model, with in-office presence three days a week.

Key responsibilities

  • Adjust attorney-involved soft tissue and moderately complex claims with injuries.
  • Identify, confirm, and make coverage decisions on bodily injury claims.
  • Investigate loss details, determine liability, evaluate and negotiate claims.
  • Prioritize and manage assigned claims workload, keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Collaborate with team members and direct vendors to facilitate claims resolution.
  • Deliver best-in-class member service through proactive communication.
  • Support workload surges and CAT response operations as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with risk and compliance policies.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
  • 2 years of auto claims adjusting experience
  • 1 year of injury adjusting experience with attorney represented claims
  • Proficient knowledge of auto claims contracts and state laws
  • Strong negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Time-management and decision-making abilities
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology related to bodily injury
  • Ability to exercise sound financial judgment
  • Ability to acquire and maintain an insurance adjuster license
