Overview

As a Senior Injury Adjuster at USAA, you will manage moderately complex bodily injury claims, ensuring compliance with legal guidelines and providing high-quality service to members. This role emphasizes effective communication, investigation, and negotiation skills to achieve successful claim resolutions, all while maintaining the company's core values of integrity and service.

Key responsibilities

  • Adjust attorney-involved moderately complex bodily injury claims.
  • Identify and manage existing and emerging risks.
  • Ensure compliance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Investigate claim details and determine legal liability.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and settle claims within authority guidelines.
  • Document all thought processes and decisions clearly.
  • Prioritize and manage assigned claims workload.
  • Collaborate with team members and support timely claims resolution.
  • Facilitate vendor partnerships to expedite claims processes.
  • Act as an informal resource for less experienced team members.

Required skills

  • High School or General Equivalency Diploma
  • 1 year of injury adjusting experience
  • 2 years of auto liability claims adjusting experience
  • Deep knowledge of auto claims contract and applicable laws
  • Negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Time-management and decision-making skills
  • Investigatory, prioritizing, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology
  • Coverage evaluation, loss assessment, and loss reserving skills
  • Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days
