Overview

As a Sr. Injury Adjuster at USAA, you will be responsible for managing moderately complex bodily injury claims, ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations. Your role involves investigating claims, negotiating settlements, and delivering exceptional service to members, all while working within defined guidelines. This hybrid position requires three days in the office each week and can be located in various cities including Tampa, FL.

Key responsibilities

  • Adjust attorney-involved moderately complex bodily injury claims
  • Investigate loss details and determine legal liability
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and settle claims within authority guidelines
  • Document investigation and settlement decisions clearly
  • Manage claims workload and provide timely updates to members
  • Collaborate with team members and internal partners for claims resolution
  • Support workload surges and Catastrophe Operations as needed
  • Act as an informal resource for less experienced team members

Required skills

  • 1 year of injury adjusting experience
  • 2 years of auto liability claims adjusting experience
  • Deep knowledge of auto claims contract and state regulations
  • Proficient negotiation, investigation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Time-management and decision-making skills
  • Proven investigatory and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology related to bodily injury claims
  • Ability to exercise sound financial judgment in claims handling
  • Proficient in coverage evaluation and loss assessment
