Overview

Pacific Life is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst II to join their Finance team within the Workforce Benefits Division. This role will be instrumental in providing advanced financial analysis to support sales leadership and strategic investment initiatives, focusing on sales analytics and strategic spend management. The position is based in Newport Beach, CA, and requires in-office presence at least four days a week.

Key responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end sales planning and target setting
  • Develop and maintain continuous sales forecasts
  • Monitor sales forecast accuracy and diagnose variances
  • Produce regular sales reporting on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
  • Support next-best-action decisioning through performance analysis
  • Document and track strategic spend initiatives
  • Design and maintain tracking tools for spend, benefits, and efficiency gains
  • Perform activity-based costing for investment analysis
  • Communicate findings clearly to leadership

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience for Senior Financial Analyst I; 8+ years for Senior Financial Analyst II
  • Strong experience in financial analysis and forecasting
  • Experience with sales data and performance metrics
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong skills in PowerPoint
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
