Job Description

Overview

The Sr Facilities Tech at bioMerieux is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the facility systems to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. This role involves overseeing repairs, conducting safety inspections, and managing building maintenance tasks while adhering to safety regulations and building codes.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate facility equipment and systems for safe functionality
  • Perform preventative, corrective, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other facility equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on facility equipment
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
  • Use computers and maintenance management systems for documentation and reporting
  • Educate peers on facility issues and solutions
  • Train less experienced personnel
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards and safety regulations
  • Participate in training programs

Required skills

  • 4+ years of experience in an industrial setting
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex equipment malfunctions
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to use a computerized building management system
  • Trade Certification preferred
  • Basic project management and planning skills
