Job Description

Overview

The Senior Estimator at Anderson Dahlen is responsible for preparing accurate estimates for fabricated metal components and assemblies. This role requires gathering information, analyzing metrics, and conducting risk assessments while being fluent in manufacturing processes and ERP systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate estimates for fabricated metal components and assemblies.
  • Gather and analyze information to determine cost and other key variables.
  • Conduct research on labor costs, materials, and production times.
  • Review offers and quotes from subcontractors or vendors.
  • Perform risk analysis and create estimate reports or bids.
  • Build relationships with key vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Assist with training of personnel on estimating processes.
  • Interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and blueprints.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in industrial or mechanical engineering (preferred)
  • Minimum of 12 years as an Estimator or in a similar role
  • Proficient in estimating ERP systems
  • Advanced training in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Knowledge of welding symbols and AWS/ASME codes
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with basic mathematics skills
