Job Description

Overview

A.O. Smith is seeking a Sr. EHSS Manager for North America to provide EHS service and guidance across its facilities to ensure compliance and risk mitigation. This role involves oversight of ISO auditing, development of risk management initiatives, and supporting EHS strategies in alignment with corporate objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee ISO audit planning, scheduling, and execution for North America facilities
  • Assist sites in audit preparation and closure of action items
  • Train and mentor new EHSS professionals in auditing
  • Implement and manage EHSS ISO 14001/45001 standards
  • Develop and manage a critical risk program and standardize approaches across business units
  • Lead EHSS projects and initiatives to mitigate risks
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on EHSS management systems and best practices
  • Ensure compliance tasks are completed on time
  • Facilitate communication between corporate and individual locations
  • Analyze EHS metrics and KPI performances for continuous improvement
  • Assist in managing regulatory agency relations and inspections
  • Support the EHSS director in long-term strategy and planning

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, EHS or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Project management experience
  • Velocity EHS software experience preferred
