Overview

The Sr. Distinguished AI Engineer at Capital One is responsible for creating and maintaining reliable AI systems to enhance banking experiences. This role involves collaborating with various teams to develop and deploy advanced AI-powered products, focusing on optimizing the performance and scalability of these systems to better serve customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
  • Leverage a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies
  • Invent state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields
  • 10+ years of experience in AI and ML algorithms or technologies
  • Proficiency in programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
  • Experience developing AI systems using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang
  • Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
