Overview

The Sr Director of AI Engineering at Capital One will lead efforts in creating responsible and reliable AI systems to transform banking services. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that enhance customer interactions and operational efficiencies, leveraging advanced AI technologies and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of AI software components.
  • Make build-vs-buy decisions using Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
  • Introduce optimization techniques for large scale production AI systems.
  • Contribute to technical vision and roadmap for AI systems.
  • Attract and retain top talent while fostering team development and learning.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 10+ years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience.
  • Experience managing engineering teams and deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang.
  • Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics.
