Job Description

Overview

As the Sr. Construction Manager for Amazon Data Services, you will lead the construction of new data centers and manage capital improvement projects. Collaborating with diverse teams across AWS, you will be responsible for ensuring project scope, quality, and budget are met while enhancing the efficiency and resilience of our data centers.

Key responsibilities

  • Own project scope, quality, schedule, and budget for construction projects.
  • Manage construction project oversight and activities.
  • Interface with construction general contractors throughout all project phases.
  • Create construction project scope and request for proposals.
  • Conduct negotiations with contractors and evaluate bids.
  • Manage cost, schedule, and quality while overseeing construction vendors.
  • Perform construction project management activities including documentation and quality control.
  • Support commissioning and integrated system testing.
  • Analyze and report on construction progress and financials.
  • Contribute to construction efficiency initiatives.

Required skills

  • Experience in constructing electrical and mechanical engineering systems.
  • 7+ years in construction management or program management for large projects.
  • Experience in data center delivery construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering fields or equivalent experience.
  • 6 years in general contractor and vendor management.
