Job Description

Overview

The Sr. Collections Specialist at North Easton Savings Bank is responsible for managing the collection of delinquent loans, including Residential, Consumer, and Commercial loans, while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This hybrid role requires occasional office presence and involves tasks such as reviewing accounts, contacting customers, and coordinating legal actions under the supervision of the Collections Manager.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform collection activities on all residential and consumer loans
  • Review delinquent accounts for proper payment crediting
  • Contact customers regarding delinquent accounts
  • Research lost checks and payments
  • Recommend actions for repossessions, charge offs, and foreclosures
  • Coordinate legal action with attorneys
  • Ensure accurate credit reporting to bureaus
  • Process inquiries regarding credit reporting
  • Order property inspections and valuations
  • Negotiate loan modifications and loss mitigation solutions
  • Assist in preparing delinquency and collection reports
  • Monitor accounts in bankruptcy and update reporting systems
  • Conduct follow-ups on delinquent real estate taxes
  • Represent the Bank at court proceedings for delinquent loans
  • Maintain knowledge of bank policies and regulations

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a financial institution
  • Strong knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and SBA servicing guidelines
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle customer interactions tactfully
  • Bilingual ability is a plus
