Overview

The Sr. Collections Specialist at North Easton Savings Bank plays a crucial role in managing the collection of delinquent Residential, Consumer, and Commercial loans. This position ensures compliance with various lending regulations while actively engaging with customers to resolve their delinquencies and recommending solutions such as loan modifications or repossession actions. The role requires a strong background in collections while balancing compliance and customer communication effectively.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform collection activities on residential and consumer loans in compliance with regulations
  • Contact customers regarding delinquent accounts via phone, letters, and personal visits
  • Review delinquent accounts and ensure payment accuracy
  • Coordinate legal actions with attorneys under the guidance of the Collections Manager
  • Recommend and negotiate loan modifications and other loss mitigation solutions
  • Monitor and manage accounts with customers in bankruptcy
  • Process inquiries regarding credit reporting and ensure compliance
  • Assist with delinquency and collection area reports for management
  • Utilize collection platform to improve monitoring and reporting efficiency
  • Participate in quarterly reviews of delinquent tax meetings

Required skills

  • Strong knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, SBA, or PMI servicing default guidelines
  • 5+ years relevant experience within a financial institution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Bilingual ability is a plus
