Job Description

Overview

North Easton Savings Bank is seeking a Sr. Collections Specialist to join their team and contribute to improving the quality of living in the community. This hybrid position involves performing financial and regulatory tasks to collect delinquent loans while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, under the supervision of the Collections Manager.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform collection activities on residential and consumer loans in compliance with regulations
  • Review delinquent accounts and ensure proper crediting of payments
  • Contact customers regarding delinquent accounts through various communication methods
  • Research lost checks and payments and recommend account updates
  • Coordinate legal actions with attorneys under the guidance of the Collections Manager
  • Ensure accurate reporting to credit bureaus and process inquiries regarding credit reporting
  • Order property inspections and valuations on past due loans
  • Negotiate loan modifications and loss mitigation solutions
  • Prepare delinquency and collection area reports for management and the Boards
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with retention guidelines
  • File small claims actions and represent the Bank at court proceedings
  • Monitor accounts of customers in bankruptcy and update the core system accordingly

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a financial institution
  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, SBA or PMI servicing default guidelines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Tactful customer interaction skills
  • Bi-lingual ability is a plus
