Overview

Krones Process Group North America is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join their team, focusing on automated process system solutions for the food, beverage, and dairy sectors. This role involves leading project lifecycles from design to commissioning while providing technical leadership and client support.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop control system architecture diagrams
  • Design control panels and create electrical schematics using AutoCAD
  • Specify control system components and prepare system documentation
  • Develop PLC I/O assignments and program PLCs using Allen-Bradley Logix platforms
  • Develop HMI/SCADA applications and support clients on existing systems
  • Design industrial networks and specify data infrastructure
  • Develop custom applications using VB.NET and SQL databases
  • Participate in commissioning and startup activities at client sites
  • Train client operations and maintenance personnel
  • Travel 20-25% within the U.S. depending on projects

Required skills

  • 10+ years' experience programming industrial control systems in food, dairy, or beverage industries
  • PLC and HMI programming
  • AutoCAD
  • Industrial networking concepts
  • Database and application development (VB.NET, SQL)
