Overview

PacifiCorp is seeking a Senior Attorney/Assistant General Counsel in Salt Lake City, Utah, to provide legal assessments, representations, and guidance on corporate policies and regulatory matters. The role involves engaging with public utility commissions and directing legal segments related to various operational aspects of the company.

Key responsibilities

  • Represent the company in regulatory matters before state public utility commissions in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming
  • Provide counsel and legal assistance on statutes and legal obligations
  • Review and prepare legal documents and reports
  • Direct outside legal counsel as needed
  • Assess and mitigate legal risks associated with company operations
  • Monitor industry trends in legal and compliance matters
  • Manage attorneys and provide training and guidance to junior staff

Required skills

  • Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school
  • Completion of Bar exam in relevant states
  • Minimum of five years legal experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Project management and leadership skills
  • In-depth knowledge of legal and regulatory issues
  • Ability to negotiate and influence policy
  • Familiarity with public utility commission processes
  • Energy industry knowledge preferred
